Yes! You can use talki to send and receive unlimited texts with friends anywhere in the world, as long as your friend has talki installed on his phone too. Imagine – international texts with no expensive SMS charges! You can also send regular text messages to your friends who don't have talki yet. We give you some free credits to get going, and then you can buy extra credits for sending text and picture messages to any mobile phone in the world for a fraction of the cost of sending them using your existing mobile operator.

During registration, did you enter your mobile phone number, and not a land line (fixed line) number?

Over a drink at the pub – this is always a fun way to do it, but if you want to use talki, here’s how:

Within talki, just choose “invite friend” from the menu. Your friend will get a text with the link to download talki. Remember, the more friends you share it with, the more unlimited texting you can have with friends all over the world!

While talki can work from most java-enabled handsets in the world, regardless of network, you need to have Internet access on your phone.

If you already have set up Talkster numbers and the phone number you provided us is the same as the mobile phone on which you’re installing talki, then yes, you can! Once you’ve installed the talki application, the Talkster numbers that you have previously set up will automatically appear in your “CALLING” list. And by switching to talki, you’ll get the added benefit of unlimited texting to friends and family wherever they are in the world!

• From the talki main menu, select “CALLING”
• There you will see the list of your current Talkster numbers
• Click on the number of the person you want to call, and talki will make the call for you
• If you want to get calling numbers for other friends or family, go to Contacts and click on the contact for which you want to get a number

Yes, you can send a picture message to any of your friends, even those who are not using talki. A picture is sent as a regular SMS with a link, which your friend can click to view the picture (they will need to have a browser on their phone to do this). The cost to send a text or picture message from talki to your friends who don't have talki yet is deducted from your credit balance. If you get your friends to download talki, then you can send each other as many messages (text or picture) as you want, for FREE!

You can top up your talki credits from within talki by choosing the option to ADD CREDIT or here at www.talki.me . Depending on your country, you can add credits using SMS or PayPal. Before you purchase we let you know the cost and how many credits you will receive.

Text the word “help” to talki and the assistant will respond with the hot keys you can use to make talki work more easily on your phone and a link to the mobile help page you can access through your phone’s web browser.

There is also a built in wiki search tool. Ever been in a situation when you needed to know something but didn’t have access to any information? With talki you’ll carry the world’s largest online encyclopedia in your pocket – Wikipedia, with roughly 10 million articles. Simply send a text message to the talki assistant with the word “wiki” followed by your search term, and talki will respond with the full text article from Wikipedia. For example, sending “wiki text messaging” to the talki assistant will return the Wikipedia article about text messaging, all 6,800 words of it! Ever receive a 6,800 word text message before? With talki you can.

By highlighting a message in your inbox and pressing the “*” key, you can flag that message as an important one.  You can also highlight messages that are flagged as important and press the “*” key to set it back to normal.

By highlighting a message in your inbox and pressing the “#” key, your inbox will display only those messages to and from that one contact.  By pressing “#” again the inbox will repopulate all your messages.

You can use talki to call any kind of phone, mobile or fixed, home or office phone.
